Turnip and Daikon radish questions

My purple top turnips and daikon radishes broke ground 4 weeks ago. They are about 3 to 4 inches tall with full leafs but still fairly small (based on my expectations).

When will the root bulbs start showing? I guess I expected it by now.

The first frost will be tomorrow. Will they start hammering them hard now? They have been grazing both already but not pounding them. We do not have a huge deer herd.

I have never planted either until this year.

Your turnips/radishes should be mature in under 60 days from germination, all weather dependent. If your deer are in them now, with the frost tomorrow, you may see them prefer the turnips a little more.
