Whatever you plant, watch closely for aphids. I’m already having to spray my plants, aphids and thrips cause a lot of problems.
Why not just start your own from seed? Maters are pretty dang easy ta start, specially if you are only doin a few.Once again, it looks like noone in northeast ga is selling Rutgers in multi packs. I don't get it. This was always the favorite for the old timers when I was growing up. Looks like better boys, big boys, and super sweet cherry. I did pick up some Cherokee purple today. Not sure why. Never cared for em, but the only other choices were beef and roma.
If anyone sees any rutger multipacks in nega, let me know. Jaemor had 3 4-packs today , but they were the size of toothpicks. Thx
Yes it isArkansas Traveler is another good one.

Yup stuff gettin mighty expensive now aint it? Even better reason to grow more of your own stuff. It is even if your doing a lot. A couple of flats will do 144 plants with the right inserts with no more trouble than doing a couple.
I stopped at a little hardware store Thursday to get some stuff and walked by the plant rack on my way out. Cherokee Purple in about a quart pot as $5.98. Most six packs of plants had turned into four packs and were the same price. I might need to grow a couple of hundred extra next year.

A treasure for certain. That`s why I have an extensive seed bank, under lock and weapons. Some of this seed going back to the 1850s.
