Pretty good geordie! It is a thylacine, also known as tasmanian wolf or tiger. This canine-like marsupial was hunted to extinction in the early 1900s. Was found in Australia/Tasmania.

They supposedly have had some "unconfirmed" sightings...may still be one or two out there...doubt it though.

Nope. The Tasmanian Devil is still around. The Tasmanian Wolf, however, is presumed extinct.
