GARDENS 2020

Captain Gut Hook !
Got mine replanted yesterday. Only noticed a few sprouts when I redid the rows. Only planted half of each row and will wait to see if the rest of each row comes up.

It wasn’t until after I finished that I realized I had replanted the squash and beans in the wrong rows:banginghefacepalm: Not that it matters but I might have some beans come up in the squash and vice verse

Could make for an interesting hybrid. :D

Got my stuff all going - started raised beds a couple years ago and have fought enough sunlight so I did 15 new boxes this year along the fence and going only with hay bales in them (cucumbers, tomates, peppers). Have had good luck with hay bales in the past, but they fall apart easily when they breakdown even after tying them together with rebar tie-wire so thought the boxes would keep it all together. Been picking kale for salads and eating strawberries right off the plant - neighbors young kids have liked coming over and picking the strawberries. Potted some pumpkins, cone flowers, and Johnny Jump-ups for some perennial color to put in ground later in summer and hopefully get some nice pumpkins for October. Glad to have the 2 blueberry bushes really put it on this year as well. Good luck to all with their plantings

Captain Gut Hook !
Finally got plants sprouting! But then I noticed Red Bugs and little white bugs going to town on my mater plants. I had to make a run to lowes and get some spray. Had to be careful in that choice because of my honey bees.

We got a couple of good slow soaking rains over the past couple of days. Our second planting of beans and butter peas had just started popping up before - now I bet they really take off. I think I can see the second planting of okra starting to pop through, too. Squash is blooming like crazy, too. If we get some sun and heat this week stuff will really take off!

My second planting of okra came up spotty.

My rain gauge stops at 5.5 inches and its been overflowing for most of the day. I'll bet you can guess what my new garden spot in a low area looks like right now???
