Is my seedling abruzzi rye gonna survive this 13* cold snap? Or should i plan on replanting?
It should, I would think. My buddy used to plant it every year, and I don't recall it ever dying when it got real cold. I'm not sure about if it's not established yet? The deer seem to like it.Is my seedling abruzzi rye gonna survive this 13* cold snap? Or should i plan on replanting?

BTW, I am not a rye expert by any means, but I've never had any die that I can recall, even up here where it gets below 0 sometimes. Cereal rye is usually about as hardy as grains get.Naw i just planted it is why im askin. Last two years i did winter planting it was more mild.
Good deal! I will plan on it working then.BTW, I am not a rye expert by any means, but I've never had any die that I can recall, even up here where it gets below 0 sometimes. Cereal rye is usually about as hardy as grains get.
That chart says it all! Thanks i bet its fine then.
Well, i have several plots at different age groups since i use it for cover croppin garden spaces. The plot that was a few weeks old, lets say a month , did fine no damage. The two week old stuff did fine as well, but all the crimson clover died. The last stuff i put out failed kinda but not all the way. Our temps got down to 6* maybe lower and stayed there for a bit. All my winter garden crops got burnt to the ground for the most part. How did your rye fare? I had a pretty good looking late planted stand in Tennessee and it got zapped. I’m hopeful but not optimistic it’ll come back.
