30-06 and H414?

Anyone using H414 on their 30-06 loads?

I've always used H4350, but ran out. Mine likes 180 grain pills.

Any recommended recipes?

Yes I know...I have data books. With the absolutely ridiculous prices right now, I was just seeing if anyone has good results with 414.

I have always loaded IMR4831 & on occasion IMR4350 in my 30-06 180 gr reloads. Could not find any last year. Picked up a 1# jug H414 last year and worked up one load which is very accurate. 51 gr H414 180 gr Hornady Interlock SST CCI 200 LR primer. Works great. No problems at all using a standard LR primer. Looking forward to seeing how the Hornady SST Interlock performs on deer next season. By the way H414 is discontinued but is pretty much the same as Winchester 760 Ball Powder. Meters much better than 4350 & 4831. I was lucky to have picked up an 8 lb jug of H4350 a couple months ago though so now this will be my go to Ought Six powder after my H414 reloads are gone.

I've used W760/H414 for years. As posted above, you'll love how it meters. It should yield similar results to H4350.

I've used both CCI 200 and 250 primers with this powder. The 250's have generally delivered a bit higher velocities than the 200's.

H414 and W760 are the same powder like H110 and W296 aren't they? Are you sure H414 has been discontinued? We starting using W760 and H414 when H4350 was nonexistent. It sure does get a little squirrely when it gets hot out

I use H414 for loading 125 grain Nosler BT's. Keep speed under 2900 fps and they shoot great in my 30:06.

When I first ventured into handloading I kept 4 powders to load most everything.

W760/H414, W748, for long guns. (.223 Rem to 300 Win) W231/HP38, and W296/H110 for handguns. .38 Spec, .45 ACP through the Casull.

Oh' I had other powders too, but with these great metering versatile powders I felt like I could cover all my needs.

Don't recall ever having any issues with temperatures affecting accuracy or pressures. I also never left my ammo on the dash of my truck the way folks around here did. One great fellow I remember from my youth had a Winchester 100 chambered in 308. His ammo stayed in the center of his cluttered GMC pickup dash year round. I know that stuff was literally broiled in the Ga. sun. There I go reminiscing again...

Best I recall the H414 is right at home with the heavier bullets in 06'. I wish I could offer more, but I seldom load anything heavier than 165 grains now.
