A few more Ellijay dogs

Well. They’re back. I posted somewhere before that they cover us up for awhile and disappear.
All of these things are good sized. But there was one that really stood out.
Last pic is a nasty mangey thing that was in my neighbors chickens. He heard a commotion and found his beagle trying to run it off. A .22 mag sent it on to the other side. It did kill one chicken which is in the pic. Same as before. All mine killed literally in my backyard at night wirh AR with mounted varmint light.

Yessir he’s huge. I’ve killed, well I’ve killed a ton of these things right in my backyard. And without doubt he’s the biggest. The wife had me measure him after she saw him.
I realize it’s not a correct measurement as he’s not upright lol but from his back to his feet, with his front legs as natural as I could get em was right at 30”.
That other one in back of Kubota beside him is a big one. This things ridiculous.

Don’t have a clue. There’s chicken houses in the area but not that close to us. I guess were just blessed. Lol

Nice kills ! You might better disinfect the bed of that UTV. There's 3 or 4 types of mange and some of it is very contagious to domestic animals. Get em all !

How much you think that big dog weighed?

Thanks. I’ll pass that along to my neighbor as that mangy one was in his Gator. Prob need to go ahead and get my Kub as well. There’s about four of us all very close that deal with these things. It’s crazy. I can go sometimes a couple of months without any sightings. Then all of a sudden my trail cams are loaded. I’m only on about 11 acres. Maybe 1/2 wooded and the other 1/2 yard. When these things get cranked up it’s nothing to see them mostly in my back yard. I have one cam out there about 30 yards from our kitchen window. One coming out of a road from the woods and one behind an old cabin out back. Can study the pics and pretty much tell what their travel movement is.
But it’s nearly always the same.

Or start trapping them. Once you get the population down you will not see any with the mange. Trapping is the only way to get it under control. Anybody on here that traps will help give you instruction on trapping. All you have to do is ask. One thing though, once you start it is very addictive. Good luck!!!!

Must be going to those Chicken houses & eating dead ones ? I 100% agree on TRAPPING. Traps work 24/7/365...even while you sleep !

One of the guys here used to trap a little and was pretty good at it. I havent heard lately. im not physically able to do much of that myself these days. Another story. But I can take advantage of the ones that manage to make the mistake of visiting my place. Lol.
