Any slug hunters/ shooters ?

I've just always thought that shrinking a projectile and putting plastic around it whether for a shotgun or muzzleloader was kinda silly. Even if it does help with accuracy.

Excessive lead build up in the barrel makes sense.

You can't argue with the results though. They are dead accurate out to 100 yards and they put the deer down. I shot one square in the chest with an upward trajectory and the bullet came out his hindquarter. He took two bounds and dropped.

What is the theory behind not being able to shoot lead rifled slugs out of a rifled barrel? Most of them say that they are for smooth bore barrels on the box. Seems like those slugs would be awesome for woods hunting if you could get decent accuracy out of them.
Its because they deposit lead in the rifling of the barrel quickly. I've tried.
