I just acquired some property in burke county near Keysville and was wondering how the hunting is I don't see much about burke county on the forum.
any info from yall?

I use to hunt up there and I can tell you there are plenty of deer there and if you like to shoot doves there is some plenty of them too.

Burke county at one time had one of the highest deer density in state....I think ?

Definitely a good county as Piggy06 said. I have hunted a few times in the area and there are plenty of big deer there. Hopefully you’ll have good neighbors.

no I didnt get a chance to hunt it this year .bought it the last week of the season and had family obligations.
got the rest of this year to prep it for the season.

Burke has more deer than any other county but also is or one of the biggest counties also. I heard it’s athens on steroids. I’d love to hunt there and see deer often for a change.
