CVA V2,good or bad?

I went in our local Wally World last night to grab a couple things and they had a CVA optima V2 camo stainless gun/scope combo on clearance for $298. I haven’t hunted with a muzzle loader for atleast 15 years and haven’t kept up with them any. Did I get a good deal or a waste of money?

That's a heck of a deal. The plain black & stainless Optimas go for that much on a good day without a scope.

ETA: And they're solid rifles.

I had one of the first CVA inlines years ago that I gave around $99 and killed a truck load over a few years so I knew CVA was a decent name. I had been wanting to get another one so I figured I might as well grab that one when I saw it

The V2 is a much better rifle than the old first edition in lines.

The only thing is I wish it was a 45 cal instead of 50

Yeah, in the last dozen years or so everything but .50 Cal has all but disappeared.

Just shoot a sabot with a Hornady magnum 45 300 grain bullet
