I agree. I’ve doubles many times after dropping one. Also had doe family groups hang around wondering why little sister laid down and stopped moving after I shot. Just wanted to see what folks thought.No. A gunshot is just a loud noise, another of many loud noises they hear every day. Sometimes it scares them off, sometimes they don't react at all to it, and sometimes it actually attracts them out of curiosity. I couldn't tell you how many times over the years that I've shot a deer, and in less than a minute, another deer or two come running up looking around. Twice in my life I can remember shooting at a deer with a muzzleloader, missing because of a hangfire or some such, reloading the muzzleloader, and killing the deer that was still standing there looking around.
Deer do not have powers of logical deductive reasoning. These are the same critters that will stand in the middle of the highway in front of your car until you run over them.
Yeah, but if they had reasoning capability, they would associate roads and cars with danger, and not stand in the middle of them to start with.I agree. I’ve doubles many times after dropping one. Now, the standing in the road thing is another matter. A bright light in human eyes that are adjusted to night is very blinding, deer have exponentially better night vision than ours, imagine how blinding headlights are at night to them. They do much better with traffic in daylight hours.
