Ever plant Triticale

Seed place was out of oats so i got Triticale. I kind of like doing something a little different every year. I've barely even heard of the stuff let alone planted it. Anybody ever plant it and if so how did it do ? It's in the ground now waiting for rain so we will see in time. Drilled 10 bags of triticale, 2 bags of AWP then top seeded crimson clover and forage radish and drug with a fence drag. Come on rain !

Yup! A cross between cereal rye and wheat! Works pretty good for deer food!

Never planted it. Craig Harper did some usage studies and I recall it graded out pretty well in deer usage compared to the more common cereal grains.

I’ve planted it before and the deer ate it just fine.
