I think my kid is ready !!
Been letting my 8 year old shoot and he is ready for opening day. I bought him a youth model 30-30 for his Birthday back in March, I started him out on a 22 lever action rifle so he would have the same feel for action. Got his aiming down pack, bumped him up to the 30-30 and he loves it. I was concerned about the added kick, but he said he does not feel it. I let him shoot a youth model 308 that my wife shoots and he prefers his 30-30. Im going to put a scope on it this weekend and move him up to scope shooting. I have another lever action 22 with a scope for him to start on so he can adjust to that before he starts shooting it on his 30-30. I cant wait myself to see him nock something on the ground opening morning.
