Is it legal to trap squirrels?

Super glue a pecan half to the trigger of a rat trap.
And screw them to a tree about waist high upside down. A little dab of peanut butter helps. You mite wanna add a kill bar to the edge of the trap where the jaw snaps shut. It don’t take much and it makes an instant break.

I’ve also heard a Gatorade bottle cap filled with peanut butter put on conibear trigger wires will get rid of the squirrels in your attic

Definitely screw down or stake those large Victor rat traps if you are attempting to catch squirrels. They will dispatch chipmunks and juvenile squirrels. I have not tried a "kill bar". Don't know what it is. But, as is, those traps are not stout enough to kill an adult gray. If one does get caught, a loose trap goes where the squirrel wants. My experience is that an adult squirrel will work it's way out after a few minutes. For attic squirrels, I recommend some home made, hardware cloth cone, excluders at all active a access portals. Tighten up the rest of the roof. My best luck is killing rats is a 55 gallon drum with about 30" of water and a ramp up the side. Pour in enough sunflower seed to make it look like a solid surface. Rat will jump in to eat and drown. This trap will catch a dozen rats. They
just keep jumping in. Have not tried for squirrels. It will catch chipmunk though.

A few years ago I had a problem with tree rats at the Trailer Park that had to be delt with, they will get in the trailers and eat insulation off wires and other stuff. My solution was to take the best minding kid in the park and handed him a pellet rifle and some rules. It's took a good 3 years for the population to rebound
