Definitely screw down or stake those large Victor rat traps if you are attempting to catch squirrels. They will dispatch chipmunks and juvenile squirrels. I have not tried a "kill bar". Don't know what it is. But, as is, those traps are not stout enough to kill an adult gray. If one does get caught, a loose trap goes where the squirrel wants. My experience is that an adult squirrel will work it's way out after a few minutes. For attic squirrels, I recommend some home made, hardware cloth cone, excluders at all active a access portals. Tighten up the rest of the roof. My best luck is killing rats is a 55 gallon drum with about 30" of water and a ramp up the side. Pour in enough sunflower seed to make it look like a solid surface.
