Here’s my buck from this season. He’s about the equal of my personal best. He’s not as wide but taller. Killed him in Oconee County on 11/23.

That is a Ruger American predator in 308, I believe it has a 16” barrel, I’ve purchased a suppressor for it, but our government is taking forever for my stamp approval, she’s shooting a sub sonic 180 grain hollow point, traveling around 975 fps, she absolutely loves this thing, that’s the first animal it has killed, I will be shooting it a-lot once the suppressor gets here!!!

Here is my Mitchell County buck. Solid 4 year old I killed out of a funnel I found. I also shot a bigger older buck before this one that I found about 2 weeks later. I made a poor shot that I couldn’t find any sign of the deer. Smelled him a couple weeks laterAD1C8AD6-A3A7-479F-BBC9-58C764823C4C.jpeg

I only got trail cam soup!

Same here. I had 3 I was after but they never showed up in the daytime so here I sit with my steaming hot bowl of tag soup, extra garlic. Ummmm! Yummy!

I actually had the best season a guy could ask for, had my kids with me for both hunts. At that time it was the only 2 hunts my daughter had ever been on. My son and myself if we are being honest, are pretty sure she's the good luck charm. But I took the 2 best bucks I'd ever taken off my grandfathers farm, the first in November was an 11 point, 206lbs, and 124 and 5/8th he held the record for 35 days and we followed him up with another 11 point at 177lbs and 140 and 6/8th, never expected that, knew they were there, but never expected to have them come in with 8 and 7 year old kids in the stand with me, that aren't quiet by any means. Best hunting memories made last season I'll never forget and hopefully they won't either, getting both mounted and thankfully they both picked a different one for each of their walls so no arguments there.

Great pics - Tag soup here, but not for lack of bucks or opportunities.... I may go a year or two sometimes without filling a tag, being bow only for mature bucks being difficult even on good land - but thats okay and when it does come together theres nothing like it. Several good ones should make it through based on late season cam pics. Already strategizing and planning, thats half the enjoyment to me. Buck below was at 35 yards from my grandson who took pic with Iphone, he went bow only this year at barely 16 years of age. I tried to get him to at least rifle hunt some in late afternoons or duing rut, but he said "I just love bowhunting Papa"... Pic of his buck from year before with gun...
