Ran a 8kw Firman on and off for 4 days..set up temp. Backfed into a 60amp breaker with the main off. Not an ideal setup, but for the first time we've needed it in over a year...works for me. Ran a 4000 on the rv which ran 14 hrs on a tank full. Keep in mind, on propane (dual fuels) you'll lose 15%+ or so of rated power. For us, a whole house is not economically beneficial. We're bugging in the rv and can live in it on return.
Oh...the 8kw is good for 8hrs on gas/tankful and 5 I think on a 20lb propane cyl. We'll probably go get 2 of the 40's from Tractor supply just to have for the future.

Generac is what I have. Happy with it. Like said before, run it every month or so and cut the fuel shut-off valve to shut it down for storage. Helps clear gas from carb that way.
