Our new camp

Gone But Not Forgotten
Reason for posting is, we used to have a few fellows from other leases come by and visit. We had to move camp couple seasons ago. We're on the same Miller Rd, just about 300 yards south of where we were. It's a better place, doesn't get muddy when it rains, the well pumps good water, not stained with clay. We have a good hanging pole, electricity, water, cook room, with bathroom, septic tank. Hot water heater, refrigerator, gas stove, sink, microwave etc.
To explain why we had to move: After leasing the old camp property for 19 years, the owner went into a home and gave a daughter power of attorney. She claimed to have the property sold, with anyone notifying us about anything. We were told to get off in ten days. We moved, but we took our time because of how she was handling the deal. Offered to buy the property for 6K, she refused. My last word was, if your deal falls through, don't call me. The deal fell through and they tried for a week to contact me, I wouldn't answer, we had already moved. The old camp finally sold for 5K. Karma got em, the owner finally passed.
Only problem so far, my camper started leaking after being moved. Have it patched, until it can be repaired.
We also have a garden spot, presently with snap beans, okra and squash. The old pin in map has now been replaced with a magnet system. Does the same thing, shows where folks are hunting. Keeps me busy like the other place, mowing and weed whacking. We let the lady who owns the property use our facilities anytime she wants. The hurricane of 2018 destroyed two mobile homes for her. She can still use one in part.

Moving camp was quite a chore. Skid steer and the Kubota got it done. Relocating the camp room, putting up the power pole, etc was done after we cleared the area. The new camp area was grown up with brush, small trees and had piles of junk. Labor intense, but with the help of less than half the members we got it done. But that percentage of help is normal these days.

Old hunt camps, beginning in 1975. First one is Macon Co. Al. Second photo, first Ga camp 1987. Third photo, second Ga camp, same lease. Property sold, we moved. Forth photo, our 3rd Ga camp, same lease. Photo shows cleaning up right after hurricane Michael of Oct 2018. Right after we cleaned up all the down trees, made repairs etc, we got kicked off the property. Then they sold the property for 1K less than I had been offering during the 19 years we had leased the property. Last photo, current camp, same Ga lease. It's nice, hanging pole, electricity, bath, kitchen etc.. Plenty room for our campers. Hope this one holds for a few years. Tired of having to move camp. We've had camps on three sides of the lease so far. Check out the one inside with all the deer racks. All mine, that wasn't mounted.
