Oysters

I'm new to harvesting mushrooms, but I found a great bunch of oysters yesterday.

Is it early?

I've seen oysters at all times of the year.

Those look a good bit different from the oysters around here, particularly those long stems that the gills don't run all the way down. Look like they're about past the eating stage, anyway.

Probably, but hard to say for sure from the pics, and their age. There are several species loosely lumped into oysters. The elm oyster usually has longer stems like that, but I don't think they're very good.
