Good to know, the patch is surrounded by mature trees, it’ll get mid day and early afternoon sun at best. I guess a plus will be that the soil shouldn’t dry out so quickly.Partridge pea does good in partial shade
I got mine from Hancock Seed company in Florida. Five pounds of seed with inoculant was about $80, free shipping.Im interested in this idea. Have you ever planted Partridge Peas before? Any tips on a seed source?
I’ve never planted them but a friend who does quail hunts has acres of them. They produce yellow flowers that attract pollinators and seed pods that the birds love. They’re perennial and provide good ground cover.Im interested in this idea. Have you ever planted Partridge Peas before? Any tips on a seed source?

The bag says 15#/acre for new seeding. They also need the inoculant for nitrogen production. What kinda seeding rate do yall use?

Beautiful day to do some tractor work, just need soil test and I’ll be ready to plant. The area doesn’t get much sun, I hope it’ll be ok. If not, I’m just out the cost of seeds and a little diesel fuel. View attachment 1294355
