These are a particular brood and are only found in specific places. I’m just now hearing the “regular” cicadas too

This old Radio Shack thermometer was left in the house by the previous owners. We put it in the storage room in the basement the first year we were here. That’s been 17 years this month!
We check it from time to time-Usually when switching out seasonal decor.
Went down a couple of weeks ago to put up the Easter stuff and noticed it was dead, so I replaced the battery and it’s back in business. Not sure how long the previous battery was in there, but it was at least 17 years!
This little thing was built to last-May be the reason Ol’ Radio Shack went by the wayside.
May just have to show it some love & give it a good cleaning.
