I’ve been turkey hunting for quite a while. I remember when only a few counties had an open season. I had to drive a long ways to be able to hunt in an open county. Before too long the turkey population expanded and soon we had a state wide season. Lots of great years. Lately, the turkeys haven’t been doing so well. I hunt a property that you used to could hear 4 or 5 gobblers sounding off. This year only one. Called him in a couple times. Only ever saw 2 hens. Never even raised my gun to shoot. Enjoyed watching him. Since the season had been over he has shown up in the landowners yard. Hope he makes it to next year!
