NE and KS have been a little tough this year, so we switched gears and headed South. NM was good to us today. 12-15 coveys (we couldn’t remember exactly) and 19 blue quail to show for it. Back at it again tomorrow!

Shot plenty of gambel bobwhite and California valley quail. Never shot any of the blue quail. Good job guys!!

If you’ve never hunted blue quail, I suggest giving it a shot. In 2 1/2 days we saw 32 coveys, and killed 29 quail. This was a tough year in NM, which should give you an idea of how incredible the hunting can be. With that said, they aren’t “gentlemenly” in any way, shape or form!
