Same weekend as "opening day" on the Rez in Cherokee. Another member on here fishes this Helen one usually. Ive never fished it but seen some of the nice fish they stock.

I figured you'd be along. Lol. Looks like I got the all clear to head up to Cherokee that weekend. Trying to get up there soon to check on the place.

I attended this weekend, the announcer at the prize/raffle winner presentation said there were approximately 800 anglers entered this year, with 500 being pre-registered.

They used a different hatchery this year and the 100 tagged fish were less than 4.5lbs as opposed to the usual 5-10lbs range.

I didn't appear that the state had stocked as they normally do.

It was a great time with friends as always, one of our group caught a tagged fish and got his entrance fee back.
