If you are a newbie and you can find someone experienced to take you, you are special and should pay attention. If you have to go it alone, spend the first year reading the regs, figure out when the seasons are, figure out what all license you need, find some places to try. Sit in the deer stands near creaks and swamps, scout the ducks, learn when they fly or roost. Then next year forget about Bambi, go try duck hunting, experience will teach you a lot.
