460 s&w & 454?

Can the 460 S&W also shoot & chamber the 454 &45LC rounds and can the 460& 454 be loaded down with trailboss and lead bullets to reduced recoil levels that will be a 'whole lot less than the full power rounds'?say around 750-800fps is the recoil easy to control?I just wondered..I heard these rounds were brutal...

Yes, the .460 S&W can fire the .454 & .45LC. If you want the recoil reduction, just fire the .45 LC.

That is why I shoot a 500 mag S&W. One bullet, not that can it shoot this or that???? Just messing. I am wanting a backup to my 500 and I am really hitting the 460 really hard. I think I need it.

- inside 50 yards, I will drop him even with a 2.75" Barrel...

200 grain hornady's - Jelly Tips are in my humble opinion "Light Recoil Loads"... I can pick up a box of 20 for $27.00...

yes you can use 454 c or 45lc which makes it very versatile,but make sure you clean out the powder ring if you use many of euther prior to seating a 460 in the thing as far

As far as the hornady it was deadly on 2 wild boar @ over 250lb lbs each

Ive owned both the 460 and the 500 for grizzly protection in Montana. The 460 is a great neat gun! Shooting the 45 out of it feels like the recoil of a 22. there is nothing fun about the 500...at all..lol

i own a 460 with the 12" barrel with a 4x leopold scope. shoting the hornady sst load 6 inch drop at 250 yds. used it in alaska to hunt bear, moose. used it as a backup for grizz. using 454 or 45 LC noticed huge difference, if you want to use it to hunt deer use 454 load. have had good success with it.
