Rattlesnake Skin

Hello all, had a question that I hope someone can answer. I have a 5' rattlesnake skin that is finally good and dry. I would like to be able to hang the skin up, but the scales are very brittle and will fall off when touched. Is there something that I can put on the skin to protect it?

Take a very dull butterknife, or even a spoon, and lightly scrape the scales off. Work from the head to the tail only, so you don`t mess up the keel. Then give it a light coat of Armorall. It`ll shine like it did on the snake.

I have always used a 50\50 mixture of denatured alcohol and glycerin. Always worked for me as far as preserving
