Do some bacon, do lots of bacon! Eat it, freeze it, etc. What drains in the drip pan keep pouring it back on the top. It will season quick! Get a cover or a flat top.
I'm curious to see how that new grill top works out for you. On the previous models, the front lip is 'open', so you have straight flat access to the griddle from the front, but on the newer ones, they have a raised lip all the way around and the stuff drips out the back. I'm wondering if that front lip will restrict access to flipping stuff. "Enquiring minds want to know..."
