Has anyone heard of any big law changes from last year? I know the corn thing is always a HOT topic with lawmakers!

As for hunting deer over bait. It failed last year and again this year and every year for the past decade. The proponents do not have the votes in either chamber of the Georgia legislature to get a stand alone favorable vote. The citizens of Georgia have repeatedly spoken through the political process as expressed through their elected reprensentatives and senators that they do not support this activity. End of story.
Interestingly, anybody know how long it has been unlawful to hunt game animals over bait in Georgia?
Under state law, since 1925 - but that's a guess.
This may answer your question and others:
State Park Quota Hunts: State Park quota deer hunts will be offered at Bobby Brown, Mistletoe, and Tugaloo State Parks. The hunt at Red Top Mountain was removed.
Townsend WMA: This new 6,714 acre WMA in Long County near Ludowici purchased in part with nongame license tag monies will offer deer, turkey and small game hunting opportunities.
Fall Line Sand Hills NA: This new 876 acre Natural Area in Taylor County near Butler purchased in part with nongame license tag monies will offer deer, turkey and small game hunting opportunities.
Bear Tagging Requirements (North Georgia Only): Bear harvest must be reported within 24 hours of harvest and tagged within 3 business days of harvest.
Northern Bear Zone: Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Walker, and Whitfield counties have been added to the Northern Bear Zone.
Electronic Calls (on WMAs) for Coyote & Feral Hog:Hunters may use electronic calls when hunting coyote from Aug. 15 through Nov. 30 on WMAs. Additionally, hunters may use electronic calls for hunting feral hogs on WMAs when feral hog hunting is permitted.
Alligator Zones & Seasons:The open zones for alligator hunting have been expanded. Additionally, the season has been extended by two weeks and the number of available quotas increased by 50.
