the only doe I have on camera without a fawn. She was very old and wary. 18 yard quartering away shot. she has lived a long life and will provide for my family now.

Congrats and thanks for honoring the harvest Like it should be. To many others out here looking for short lived fame and attention with their multiple kills.

I tried the liver last year but wont do that again. I do want to try the heart though. Any cooking/preparation advice?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that loves deer heart. Liver, not so much.

pump all the blood out of it under cold water. cut out all the "non meat" parts. slice and bread with cornmeal. fry up and enjoy!

ever try the kidneys? they are better than the liver for sure.
