Eugene,

Thanks for the update. Would love to hear from you again, say on an annual basis? I know most all of us have gone through these same challenges and it's not a trivial cost, as well as a safety issue.

i just ordered my kumho's. I had to back order the 195 75 r14's. they are on national back order and should arrive in 3 months or so

I emailed Kumho and confirm that size is being discontinued. Just got my Kenda D load today and has a date of 0315. Can't get any fresher than that folks!

If anyone is interested I got them from these guys. $168 shipped to your door! I always buy my tires from these guys.

The LRC is a C-rated tire and holds 50lbs of pressure. I think they are good tires. ($79)

The LRD are the D-rated tires and holds 65lbs. of pressure and carries more weight.($84 @ trailertiresandwheels ... $74 at simple tire)

My boat's weight is at the very top of the C-rated load class tire when tournament loaded. I went for the extra capacity for safety and piece of mind.
I do like that site and will add it to the list.

I checked also. Looks like they didn't have enough orders to warrant a run. I'm pretty sure the 205 will still work for me though

Other 14 inch tire options with Load range "D" , speed rated to 100+ mph, accept up to 65lbs air pressure; These are like an 80 series and 195's are the similar diameter of the ST 205 series Marathons and other ST trailer tires.... And the 205 Kumho 857 are similar diameter as the ST 215 Marathons and other ST trailer tires.

Trailer tire balancing...

I recommend that everybody add up their rigs total weight...

Boat, motor, trailer, batteries, charger, gas, spare tire, anchors, spare prop, trolling motor, tackle, etc and make sure the tires that they buy are up for the job and have a 20% cushion... Many people forget to add the weight of their trailer, but the tires also carry that load as well.

Many times trailers are rigged with bare min suspension and tires and this can cause many problems as the tires show age... Max inflation also helps the tires run cooler and helps prevent sidewall failure.

This is a good reason to use a load range "D" tire so your not at risk with the load we all carry.

I have pulled boats many many miles since 1996. I had a 19ft hydrasports til 2008 then I got a ranger 520 which I have now. I had two blowouts on the hydra sports. Both on goodyear marathons and both on I-20 near Talladega speedway. Use to be really rough there. I did not have a blowout on the ranger, but they wore poorly on the tandem axle. I have had much better luck on the off brand trailer tires that my local dealer carries.

After 18 years my trailer axle had wore out and had to be replaced. Luckily I have a recycling yard near my house. I drove my trailer in the 18 wheeler scale and unhooked my trailer. Them I had a custom torsion axle made to my blue print. It took a little bit of doing but now I know exactly what I have. 18ft Stratos with a 150 Johnson and d-rated tires.
