cva optima switching to bh 209

i shoot a cva optima and im switching to bh 209 and i need to know what to buy as far as breech plug. im wanting to be able to shoot as far as possible and im wondering what powder amount and bullet is best to start with. i was planning on going to bp shops in duluth to get everything. any pointers or advise appreciated.

CVA sells them and you may find them at a larger store. Western also sells them. Google is your friend.......

110grs volume BH209
CCI209M or Federal 209A primer
Barnes 290gr T-EZ bullet

Go to CVA in Duluth and they will probably give it to you. I did this last year with no problems. Easy to deal with.

I got the Blackhorn 209 breech plug for around $24 on eBay. FYI max charge of Blackhorn 209 is 120 grains equivalent, not 150 grains like other muzzle loader propellants.

I have an older CVA Optima. It has the screw in breech plug rather than the QD.
I enlarged the breech plug hole from .019 to .030 and My rifle fires with BH209 and CCI mag primers every time.
