Boston Butt Day!
I ran my Akorn a little hotter than usual to smoke a butt. 275* was the cook temp. 7.5 hours to get it done and that was successful. I usually do overnight cooks at 225 but I did not feel like it so I could not do a 10-12 hour cook. Turned out great. Here are some pics. All comments are welcome as usual.IMG_20240305_081725328.jpgIMG_20240305_153105394_BURST000_COVER.jpgIMG_20240305_181228381.jpgIMG_20240305_181450922.jpgIMG_20240305_184443891.jpgIMG_20240305_184802769.jpg

Looks perfect! I have found that I like the results much better cooking hotter than low and slow.

Yes sir that’ll eat. I’ve been doing my butts in the 250-275 range and they’ve turned out just fine and get done a good bit quicker than 225.

I fail to find anything wrong with that one except I didn't get a BBQ sammidge out of the deal so I feel like I've been robbed. :bounce:

I'm with the Hillbilly on pit temps. Myron Mixon says run it on up because it doesn't matter so I'm a 300- 325 kind of guy.
