Big bluegill question

I don't know. They are in the same family as bass, though, and most bigger bass tend to be females.

Seems lime we catch more big male copperheads on the Altamaha. Catch bigger female shellcracker though.

Im in week 3 of my new bluegill feeding program. It took about a week for them to realize the pellets were food. They are engorging themselves now. The whole idea, for me, is to make them bigger for spawning purposes. I read that a large bluegill lays 100x more eggs than a small bluegill. Not just 2x, or 10x, or 20x. So for the sake of the predator species, I see it as a way of improving quantity of forage. I also love catching big bluegill. The ones in the pond now are about a 7 inch average, which is actually not bad, but I want to get them up around the 9 inch mark over the next growing season.
