My camper at deer land had a elect/gas frig. It never worked on gas. It quit working on both so I took it out and replaced it with a regular frig from Home Depot. It is smaller than the one I took out. The panel on camper outside to get to back of frig has lovers. I know that it had to be vented if you run it on gas. Can I seal off the louvers to block wind. Standing in camper I can look down both side of frig and see light through louvers. I am going to put some stryofoam on sides and top of frig and put shelf on top. Does this frig need to be vented to outside?

Yes, the vent was for the gas on the original fridge.
