Coyote Hunting Set up and calls

What do you recommend for coyote hunting? What types of calls? Do you prefer night time setups (guns etc) or dusk/dawn hunts? I am new to coyote hunting but have a lot on some property that we hunt so wanted to give it a shot. Any advice is helpful.

I've had better luck setting up in the thick stuff with a shotgun rather than trying to call them out in the open.

More fun that way too.

The most important thing is to watch the wind.

I've doon the coyote hunt thread for a few years now. You can go back to all the post over the years and see what people use and what works for them. I hunt them day or night, mostly at night but that's a work schedule issue. I like to kill them during the day and as mentioned a shotgun in the woods is a rush. Pay attention to the wind

I highly recommend watching "MFK" coyote hunting videos . They are applicable to SE hunting. Those boys lay the wood to them, they sale calls also.

Yeah their videos are awesome. And they do 90% of it in the thick woods with a shotgun.
