Dead boat battery

I have a parasitic draw on my boat that kills the battery if it sits. To remedy I installed a battery switch so I can cut all draws to the battery when not in use. Two months ago I flipped the switch trimmed the motor to move the trailer back and forgot to flip the switch to off. Now my battery is so dead my battery chargers don't recognize it. I could probably hook another battery to it and trick the charger to charge it. Or should I just ditch it and get a new battery even though that one was bought last yr?

Jump it off with a jump box. Charge system on the boat motor will charge it.

Do you have automatic chargers or the old timer kind? You may need to force a charge to it. You can also try n turn some lights on in the boat with the charger hooked up. Sometimes this will help to pull a charge into the battery.

Top it off then haul it to the store to get it tested. But yes- trick the battery charger. Also- my charger has "repair mode". I've used the repair mode and I do believe it worked. Actually know it works.

Do you have a radio in the boat?
Newer radios draw power even with the face plate removed.

They will drain a battery.

Yeah. Pretty sure that's the culprit. I just need to remember to turn the battery switch of. I may just take the radio out since we normally just use a Bluetooth speaker box when we go out anyway.

If you don't want to go thru removing it, just unplug it.

I hav a parasitic draw from my fuel gage on my g3. Did the same , put a battery switch in. Hav to make sure to cutoff at end of day. Lost a battery early on.
