Getting the breech plug out is something I would find a gunsmith for, and one that knew what he was doing around muzzleloaders. They are not intended to come off once installed. Did you break the rod itself or just pull the end off of it? Pulling a ball is best left to a rod that has the ends pinned on. I believe there is an attachment made for pulling a broken rod or an end that has been pulled off. I'll look around and see what I can find.
remove the nipple.
pour some powder into the drum area through the nipple.
you can get 10-15 grains of powder in there,
re seat the ball/broken ram rod
replace the nipple and blow all of it out.
