Last Sunday 9-25 I was scouting/ still hunting my way up a ridge in Dawson forest. The 10-15 mph winds in my face made perfect conditions. I had found persimmons and some white oak acorns dropping, and a couple piles of scat. I had stoped and started to look around and about 40 yards I have a bear walking right to me. Bear turns broadside about 30 yards. First shot was high and spine shot the bear. I quickly got a second arrow in her, double lung shot. She made it about 100 yards. This was my first archery (crossbow) bear. Didn’t get any really good pictures but my 3 and half year old was extremely happy. Not much longer and I’ll be able to get her in the woods.
