First handgun deer

I was able to kill my first handgun deer this morning at about 9:00.
About 50 yds with a S&W 460 loaded with 300 grain Hornsby XTP hd.
He ran about 60 yds and left a good blood trail.
The pictures show the exit. I hit him double lung but a little high.

I, also, have one of those.
I NEVER see deer when I carry it.
It shoots sweet with the Burris FF3 I have on it.
I’m shooting 180 grain gold tips in mine.

I have killed one handgun deer, many many moons ago. It was a Taurus Raging Bull, 8"+ ported barrel with a red dot. Thing was so big, might as well carry a rifle... ?

I also tried a Contender a time or two, but just couldn't like it much.

With the G40MOS in a Surplus M3 holster, it's just right because I usually carry a handgun anyway. It will be with me when a deer shows up in bow range, and gives a good shot.

Had the perfect one during muzzleloader a couple weeks back.. ?

For a monster revolver it shoots sweet.
Accurate and easy to control. But it is a bit heavy. The holster helps with the weight.

That one sure traveled a bit before taking its dirt nap. It's difficult to tell from pics, could be the angle, did the bullet just hit the very top of a lung or lungs? Shot looks high. But again could be angle of pics.

That .460 will be plenty twice over for every whitetail in Georgia.

The shot was a little high but I think it caught both lungs. Lots of good lung blood but a 60 yd or so track.
I could have hit him lower, but it may not have mattered.
