I looked at the outcrop of granite as we passed by it. I’m sure if you looked hard at it you probably will find depressions they used to grind acorns and maize.

There are some depressions. I think they are natural.
You saw about half of it Jeff. The road we drove is about center.
So you feel it was probably exposed thousands of years ago.

There are a lot of outcrops in my area. Some have moss and linchens growing on them that are native to the Arctic regions of Canada. The botanist from UGA have studied them and documented the plants. The area out by Lake Oconee has one huge outcrop that’s been placed off limits to the public. They said these outcrops of granite have been exposed since the receding ice cap and the species of plants have survived since then. I’m not sure about all that but it’s accepted by the plant gurus.
