I've owned a couple.
I kept them with my cattle when I raised Herefords.

Their about like a minature horse.
Keebs can probably tell you what immunizations cost these days.
You'll need good hay, feed and mineral supplement to thrive.
Not all ferrriers are experienced with their hooves.
They need to be well broke to halter and lead so the ferrier and vet can care for them. Dont get one if not willing to spend the time to handle them.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This..............I am getting ready to let my horses go to a wonderful friend and her young son, I just can't keep forking out money for them and can't enjoy riding them, just not enough time, plus, at my age, bones don't heal so well and I need to keep working!;)

Well she don't "own" but she's got Nick . . . hard headed fella...

Wife's still in bed, hoping that's a good sign. Fixing to join her.

I`m now the kinder, gentler, Nick. :p

You see that buck I passed on yesterday evening? I`m hoping it steps in front of The Redhead in the next couple of days.

They make great guards in the pasture.
A stray rotweiller was worrying one of my cows that was calving.
Kept circling around her and she would get up instead of just laying and calving.
I watched the two donkeys I had come across my pasture on a run.
They hit that dog without slowing down, he got up yelping and making for the fence.
The jacks stood at the fence watching the dog leave.

A neighbor about 3 miles from here uses his donkey to guard the chickens.

Fellow up around the county line used to keep a Kuvasz in with his herd. He never had any trouble with predators or anything.
