Hand held or foot controller

Looks like I can upgrade my powerdrive trolling motor to I pilot for $400 but I loose my pedal. Any of you only using the hand held remote and not the pedal on your trolling motor.
Seems like it may be tough to navigate, cast and reel since I only got two hands?

My motorguide xi5 came with both. The foot controller is still in the box in the garage and the remote is all I use. I also hooked it to my simrad via NMEA 2000 network and can control it from there as well.

The most common thing I use is the anchor mode and "jog" as I want to move around.

I upgraded my Powerdrive V2 with Ipilot and love it.

Use the autopilot and fish away.

quick tip... keep spare batteries in the boat for the remote.

I have the option of foot petal or remote on my ultrex. I use the remote when trolling for crappie, but if I’m casting I use the foot pedal. I don’t have enough hands to run the remote and fish like I want.
