I couldn't miss the opportunity to hit the river yesterday with this warm weather we had. The water temps have really jumped the last few days and I was seeing 54 pretty much everywhere. The fish were all mixed together, like they normally are this time of year. I caught crappie, white bass, hybrids, and largemouth...many times all in the same hole. I was keying in the 3-5 ft range most of the evening. All this fish came on the Strike King Slabalicious on a 1/8 oz heads. I have been throwing this jig the last few years and it is a straight up fish catcher.51214615_10102613406868948_161169755883962368_n.jpg51513514_10102613406524638_4090337049515655168_n.jpg51243223_10102613406709268_5884707032107319296_n.jpg

Ever use them with an underspin?

I've tinkered with a number of jigs heads and combinations over the years. I have come to the conclusion that a plain lead head gets the job done the vast majority of the time. I'm sure the blades help in certain situations, but with the timber and rock we fish around, it gets expensive real quick if you break off.

Saturday was a good day too. The white bass were going crazy right out of Ringer park in some of the coves off the main channel. Always good to take my son on a day when you can catch them one after another!

I just looked at the slabalicious and I really like it. I've been stuck on the Bobby Garland baby shad. Gonna get some and give 'em a try :flag:

Yes, sir. Just a bare bones Alumacraft jon, but larger. I tossed around a bunch of ideas and it just made sense to stick with simplicity. If it ain't broke.... The old one had finally started showing some age, but good night I'd love to know how many fish, deer, ducks, etc. that it had hauled. It took the better part of two weekends, but we got it wired up nice and floored it as well. I was very pleased it with for the first trip. Very stable and plenty of floor space.

About that time!! Your first post up the Hooch in February has become a rite of passage into Spring!

Went down to the lake yesterday and fooled around for 3-4 hrs and caught some crappie.
