So I have been searching for some cool places to take the family that are within a couple hours of Statesboro. I know the NWTF center is up in Edgefield SC. Does anyone know of other neat outdoors learning centers that are worth a drive? Google searches are horrible because it pulls up everything on TripAdvisor or yelp that is nothing like what I'm looking for, so I'm turning to the professionals here. Thanks in advance!

This place is now closed as you'll see when opening the link.

It was kind of corny, but somewhat interesting at the same time. Myself and a couple of coworkers were delivering a bunch of cab and chassis trucks, Roll back's, and Wreckers, down to a big truck eqpt show in Orlando, Florida about 30 yrs ago and kept riding by this place on our route back and forth several times.

On probably our last pass we finally decided to stop and check it out. I don't even think anyone else was there the day we stopped. It provided a nice reprieve of being behind the wheel so much for several days.

Just figured I'd post it for you to check out.

Good luck finding what you're lookin for.

That would've been really neat, Tom Mann is a huge name in the industry and played a part in some of my younger years of learning how to fish.

The Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians in Bryson City, NC is a neat place packed with vintage rods, flys, stories, and photos. It's definitely worth a visit whether you fly fish or not.

This does look pretty cool, between the museum and 3D range and shooting range it's already a full day. I appreciate it!

Try the Go Fish Education Center in Perry Ga
That's a great one. Fun for all ages and minimal cost. Lots of exhibits plus fishing and hunting video simulators to play on. Also they usually have the pond open for catch/release fishing, bring your own poles and bait, or use theirs.
