Just in time

Been hunting on the ground with the bow all year. Had lots of encounters on small bucks, passed a few does during the rut, and missed a nice 8 pt in November. Finally got some meat for the freezer tonight. She was walking straight to me and at 20 yards she realized something looked strange up ahead. Too late! I was already at full draw and released the arrow at the same moment she spotted me. She went about 30 yards and piled up. 5 more does hung around for about 30 minutes trying to figure out what happened, but I didn't feel like dragging 2 out of the woods tonight.

Happy New Year to everyone!

I know the feeling of having deer up close OTG, and getting one there with the rifle. I'm sure it feels even better having done it OTG with the bow! Congrats on sticking with it til the end, and getting it done!
