My 5th summer garden: Expansion and more beans

I was working on the loader all day today replacing a fuel line from the tank to the fuel strainer. You wouldn't think that would take 10 hours, but I still am not finished. I have to finish up washing out the belly pans, put the skid plates on, and fasten the cab back down.

While I was having all that fun, Meeno, McKenzie and Jacob set out the 'maters I had gotten. 'There were about 40 of them. An assortment of Better Boys, Roma and Pink 'maters

So far we got golden queen (5 rows), okry (2 rows), green beans (2 rows), navy beans (4 rows), pinters (4 rows), purple hulls (6 rows), and silver queen (4 rows) planted.

All rows are 80 yards long +/-

Really wanna plant more purple hulls but my daughter made me stop at 6 rows, we planted 9 last year. Caint neva have too many purple hulls.

Still to plant: heirloom corn (2 weeks from today), pumpkins, maters, jalepeners, green bell peppers, cucumbers, red beans, and zucchini .

Also gotta figger a way to get water up here from my pond.

Somewhere in between rest of the field needs to be planted in soybean.

Man I love this stuff!!!

JB you don't have a garden you have a farm!

Lols, it’s a lotta work but I have a lotta help. When my daughters are all grown up n gone I’ll have to downsize. Until then i keep coming up with more n bigger ways to plant. I’ve said it a bunch but i spent decades dreaming of one day living the life i have right now. And it’s a lot more rewarding than i ever imagined it would be. The work is fun to me. Very Good times.

I should prolly think of stuff the girls could sell at a local market so they can make a little $$ from their efforts. Not sure how to even begin with that.

about the last of June or so, plant them some punkins. They sell real well at Halloween and bring good money. A medium sized one will bring $10 or so. They are easy to grow, once the plant spreads out beyond cultivating with the tractor, you are done with them until you pick them

Everything planted and taking off except for the cucumbers. I’m on the 3rd try with them. I broke down today and bought a couple plants from Bonnie’s. The seeds get up and start turning yellow then die.
