I've got 4 old kitchen knives that I was going to throw away and I thought someone might have a use for them. The longest blades are 7" and 8". If no one can use them, what's the best way to safely dispose of them?
There's plenty of life left in the bottom two, but the paring knife looks like it's had a very useful life. The cheese knife at the top usually not made from high grade blade steel (hard to tell from pic).
There are a few on here that like to repurpose old blades and may be contacting you. If I lived closer I'd stop by and pick them up. My students can learn from a repurpose project like that.
A fella over on the ODT forums does a lot of that kind of work - Biker13 (I think).
As far as "disposing", never had that problem. I still use a few of my Grandmuddy's old Green Rivers in the kitchen. Hard to beat the old school steels and their patina.
