Don't pay no attention to the serious face. Getting your picture taken was a BIG deal. Everyone made sure hold very still, look directly at the little gizmo at the top of the camera box, and put on an unsmiling, straight face.

I went on the same trip in 7th grade. Remember sneaking out at night at the 'motel' and smoking with the boys.... and one chaperone. But that was the early 80's....we were built differently.

That last picture.....seeing that in person will change you forever.

My daughter was chosen to 'lay' the wreath stemming from a contest where she had to write an essay on what it means to be American.

I couldnt make that day and the lady that was in charge (only one allowed to take pics or what we were told) got the flue and we ended up not getting a single picture. I paid a lot of money for her to go on that trip and had no idea about the wreath until I picked her up. My wife had steam coming out of her ears when she called her.
