When I was Youngin we hunted quail from the truck riding the hedgerows. Get out and shoot when the dogs pointed. It was lots of fun. 50+ years ago.

Other than the very good fried quail I had at friends house last Monday, that picture is the first I've seen since around 1978. A very rare bird indeed.

They hunt Ruffed Grouse like that in Quebec, from the road. Fishing up in Quebec one time we killed a grouse with a rock. " Fools Hen"

They used to be very common here, but I haven't seen or heard one in many years.

This past season I had a covey visting my food plot. First one is seen in several years. I enjoyed watching them. I will to admit they looked tasty!

we stumble across a few every year rabbit hunting....they will get your attention!....dang snipes too....
