I have hunted a lot of WMAs over the past few decades.

I stay away from WMAs that are non quota on rifle weekends.

I have hunted Redlands several times. Week days only during gun season.

Too many yahoos slinging lead for my taste.

I understand that but unfortunately that's the only place I have to hunt this year.

I would go out there and get the lay of the land before I took the kids.

Maybe go around an hour or so after first light and see how much pressure is on.

Yeah scouting the morning of the hunt isn't a great idea. I would imagine you're going to walk on top of other hunters. But it's public land. I would get on google earth or one of the hunting apps and you can get an idea of the lay of the land. I would look for somewhere far from the road.
